You cook your way around the wheel of the ongoing circle of the 5 elements, never skipping one, which means it will get us into being more creative in adding tiny amounts of unusual spices or foods… And suddenly cooking becomes newly inspired and quite a bit more playful. But the main result is a divine taste as Qi gets increased with every time you go full circle, and you can taste this. It also works wonders on the digestion, even heavy meals with meat are suddenly easy to digest! you can start where you like and stop where you want to be most supported with. I mostly finish in the Earth element as its our base and centre and it increases Qi.
Example scrambled eggs: Start with the oil (Earth) add spring onions (Metal), a pinch of salt (Water) slices of tomato (Wood) added tumeric (fire) followed by the eggs (Earth), nutmeg (metal) chilli (metal) bit more salt (water),parsley (wood),paprika (fire) and few drops of oil (Earth). Eh voila! ( In my favourite recipe I actually add quite a bit of either puha or dandelion leaves (Fire) into the pan before I add the egg .
